These aren't hardened structures like prisons and there's already over 800 FEMA camps. Walmart however is in deep with the DoD. I'm not even going to say what I know about them in public.

I read an article about this long ago which interviewed an architect or engineer. He was pushing back on these structures because he did not like them, and the are rather expensive additions which had no function. He was told by the boss to drop it and include the towers.

Towers are a nutter conspiracy until they are not. I will be nervous when I see air conditioning and windows added. Maybe I should start a specialty firm dedicated to guard tower retrofit. We will add AC, one way glass, spot lights, elevator, and a bullet resistant catwalk for riflemen...

They are decorative. I can’t speak for every tower, but I have been inside a couple of them at different locations for construction issues. Every one I have been inside did not have a platform, nor were they built to structurally support a platform.

I know Dave Hodges was big on this a few years ago, that’s when I stopped listening to him.

I'm pretty sure that's for zombies. Zombies like attacking malls for some reason. So, might as well think ahead and put up a guard tower.
