I am probably stupid but I'll do a cook on low all day on a weekend, eat a serving for dinner, then leave it on warm the rest of the week and add a little water each day and eat a serving each day until it's gone

doesn't get tastier btw, but I have low standards

You could take it out. Put it in the fridge. then pull out a bowl and nuke it every day...

yeah but then I'd have to transfer it to another container

but you also get to clean the crock pot for reuse, with bonus of better tasting tasting at the end.

Do it every day for a week, and you can then skip a week or so.

You can put the inside of the crowd pot in the fridge then clean it after. It should come with a little pot cover and everything already, just gotta make the space for it.

They also have covers for the inside that you cook in and can remove and throw out after. Do that and you haven't got to clean it at all.

That's how they used to do it in the old days. Have a cauldron with stew on all the time, and just keep adding stuff to it. Dunno how long it an go like that before there are.. issues.

If it stays above 165 forever it would probably just end up having horrible texture

I suppose ideally you want the temperature to be just above the "danger zone", so around 130 or 140F. Yeah 165F is a bit much.

My standards are pretty low also, so is my taste really. Food is fuel but I always worry how long I should keep it.
