Might just be the walleye in Oregon, but I wasn't a fan the times I've tried it. Much rather fry up some bluegill. That does look delicious though.

Walleye is the state fish of Minnesota and has a huge cult following. With that being said, I too would rather have a nice meal of bluegill.

Ok, I don't feel so crazy now then lol. I used to love to fill my freezer with bluegill during summer. They hold well when vacuum sealed in a bag. Wish the area I love in had lakes. I miss going for them. Most places have huge limits or no limits on the little bastards, and they're super easy to catch

Looks divine! Imagine being somewhere where you can actually eat the fish out of the Mississippi. Down this way there's toxic catfish and those stupid jumping Asian carp that fly everywhere.

The water isn't too bad here. The St. Croix enters the 'sippi just north and is fairly prestine. The whole of the St. Croix comes under the control of the National Park Service. I would however have to believe the MN DNR has some consumption restrictions for the portion of river we were fishing.

Supposedly the Asian carp are pretty good eating, just boney

If you haven't already, you really need to watch the carp gladiators (m.youtube.com) in action. Their first vid is hilarious!

Thats about the only thing I miss about living in Ohio on Lake Erie. As a kid, getting up super early and going walleye fishing with dad and brother...

My son-in-law and a friend are driving (and pulling a boat) from northern Minnesota to Ohio next week or the week after to fish on Erie for big walleye. To say he's a fishing addict would be a gross understatement.

Looks delicious! No walleye in my state, but I am a huge fan. I first tasted walleye age 15 in PA. My Dad and Uncle went on a 2 week fishing trip to Ontario and brought back a couple big coolers full of walleye, a couple northern pike and a few othets but mostly big walleye. My uncle had a fish bench and fillet knife, did those big fish up in short order. I've only had them a few times, the last time I had to order them flash frozen from Canada.

Bon appetit!
