GE sold its appliance business to China for $5.4 billion in 2016. It seems they prepare for selling more parts.

I was surprised that they had a 40 year lease on the GE name. 35 more to go before GE Appliances becomes one of those names from America's past.

It was expected that Haier bought the name GE and the distribution channels to use it for selling renamed Chinese appliances. They surprized everybody when they reactivated the American R&D and the production and made it profitable again.

The reason for purchase wasn’t a surprise. The fact that ge gave them such a long lease is. I don’t think the Thompson lease was that long.

Any thoughts on hold or dump the shares?

Can't really say. I used to trade GE but I haven't been following since the RS.

I dumped that hot garbage when they lowered their dividend to a penny per share.

I just want to know witch division is going to make more M134 mini guns.

Dillon Precision makes those now. They fixed a few issues with the original design. I don't know if GE still makes them at all but if they do they probably fall under their aviation group.

The design issues had to do with dumping rounds unfired during spool up and spool down, IIRC.

GE hasn't made the M134 in quite sometime. It was the aircraft division. I remember talking to McDonald/Boeing employees who were in charge of installing them on occasion.

First Toshiba, now GE breaking apart into three smaller companies. Both announcements within a week. Seems odd.

They'll keep subdividing until each company has less than 100 employees.

Aircraft engines are not a part of our low carbon future. Only wind turbines will be allowed. And advanced medical imaging to detect microscopic blood clotting.
