I was surprised that they had a 40 year lease on the GE name. 35 more to go before GE Appliances becomes one of those names from America's past.

It was expected that Haier bought the name GE and the distribution channels to use it for selling renamed Chinese appliances. They surprized everybody when they reactivated the American R&D and the production and made it profitable again.
