I've never heard anything although it's never occurred to me that it was a serious issue. I can't imagine they are getting that much traffic from my posts at Voat. I could just link the original posts but the images won't show up in the thumbnail (I've been told people prefer to click the (+) icon instead of clicking the title).
And if the blog goes down or rearranges its content storage system, then the links are dead.
made a site that mirrors your uploaded pic/gifs to a handful of hosts and solves the "dead host" issue (sl.img, kek.gg, other) by always redirecting to a live link.
Thanks, I didn't know that. I try using Archive.is when I can but I've found it's not very reliable. More than a few people on Voat have also said they can't view links from that website.
I don't suppose 's site has a way to preserve Youtube videos? That would be pretty handy to have.
Nope, archiving videos is something I was looking into in terms of webm, etc. however, there are few free webm/gif/mp4 hosts and fewer that allow anon upload (without account). So the prospect of such a service surviving very long is dubious at best.
he'll chime in soon enough with these pings (it's picinfinity.co)
appreciates you repping pici like that. Thanks
By creating Poal, you gave me the inspiration to build http://picinfinity.co
Luckily was here to help with the code.
