This is the precise reason I left Voat. I try to add content ... occasionally political, but mostly just a good variety of things which interest me or I think might interest others ... hopefully, so this doesn't become what Voat has turned into. Long live Poal!

Much truth here. To me though, Voat just got overwhelmed, growing too quickly by taking in every refugee that Reddit kicked out ... most all at once. So it went from a good group of folks where everyone knew everyone to a whole bunch of crazies wanting to stake a claim to their own piece of Voat's pie.
Like a city that gets too big and people start hating each other
