I'm not a big fan of Putt's ... I quit goatland over his inability to give a shit about the place for a long stretch of time. That being said, I think Owners/Admins sometimes gotta make calls like this. Over the years you see it often, some users are just there to stir trouble and piss everyone else off. When ya give these folks chance after chance and they ignore ya ... it's time to just say ... hell, it's my site and I've had it. So banning a problem child from a sub under such circumstances seems appropriate to me.
This may not be a popular opinion ... but sometimes I think those in control just gotta do what they just gotta do, otherwise you have pure anarchy and everyone suffers for one fool.
I hate this argument that you have anarchy unless someone looks over the herd. I don't have anything to respond with i just hate that this is what people are . Do we need a master to control the herd?
Nah, not a master per se ... I've just always visited sites like this with the thought that I'm a visitor here on someone else's dime, if ya get my drift. Their call and if I don't like it, I'm always free to move on (which I've done - LOL).
Now I could make the argument in either direction in this case ... both sides have good points, on this occasion though I choose the admin knowing he put a lot of thought into this and is clearly agonizing over the decision. As stated in the original post though, spam is almost impossible to define in many cases. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.
i've always thought of it as a guardian or curator. they uphold an ideology instead of a set of rules. i thought voat was all about free speech. now i think i was wrong. let's see how poal treats me.
Part of the reason I posed this question is because I think would have banned Aged from the site long before he got a chance to get banned from gaming. I'm basing this off some conversations we've had on where the line is. Aged has advocated for pedophilia. Advocating for pedophilia will get you banned from Poal. correct me if I'm wrong.

Isn't that everyone there? The problem is one brand of trouble maker got too successful and the place got boring.
At one point the nazis were unpopular and they were the trouble makers. But did we ban them, no. That was part of the flavor of voat. It was full of trouble makers of one kind or another.
Now the most popular trouble maker is kicking the others off of the site. That's basis of anyone and everyone hating reddit. SRS was once a sad and laughed at fringe group. Now they run reddit with the coordination of the admins and mods.
At this point Voat really did become just nazi reddit just like raddle is commie reddit.
