I always hear it when they run it, but I didn't hear anything this morning. Either my nearby tornado siren place didn't get the memo to do it early and they will do it in 45 minutes at noon, or they did try to run it but found out that it's broken.
This got me to thinking and I realized that we just had the siren test like 2 weeks ago as they do that the first Wednesday of the month. Today's only the 22nd, so we still have 2 more weeks before they do it again. Was this some different tornado drill/siren test they were supposed to be doing?
Today was supposed to be the entire state of Ohio doing a tornado drill.
Sirens here get tested weekly, so it was just a few hours earlier than normal.
Ah. I didn't realize that. Thank you. Either I was not paying attention, was distracted and missed it, or ours is broken.
Also, weekly? That so frequent that it seems to make the point of having it moot as in the event there is a tornado, people might just figure it was time for that week's test or they're so used to hearing it that they tune it out and don't even notice it going off. The point of not hearing it going off all the time is so that people will pay attention when they do hear it.
I didn’t even hear them
