Come on it's shit
Ok it works, but a bazillion stuffs need to get fixed, little shits here and there all over the place, wrong default settings for the most part, and failed tool conceptions
Take the ctrl-z ctrl-y for instance. ctrl-y fuckingfukcs, just no, fuck no
The selection tool, oh my what a shit, why did they have to reinvent the wheel to make it square; the distortion/rotation tool/resize tool, why??? https://pic8.co/sh/JU3H13.png
Why??? Why all those fucking USELESS square shits I can't even see my pic fuckingfucks! Why can't I see the layer under int the process?? Like you know, ACTUAL helpful features. Way too often it feels like a telescope designed by blind people seriously
Why do I have to specify another layer when I paste shit on the fly? Of course another layer! I don't need an invisible shit that's going to disappear in a parallel universe, that's why I paste it, duh
And why oh why can't I select multiple layers at once by holding shift and click fuckingfucks????? What is THIS seriously??? But no, noooooo, let's change the name, THAT is going to be a fucking improvement, the rest can wait!
What he said.
yep I knew just by reading these anecdotes you have used GIMP. pirate Adobe, or man bring back MacroMedia fireworks!
"anecdotes"?
That's not anecdotal, that's fucking daily pain in the ass since years, that could be fixed for the most part
And no I won't pirate adobe
Reality is that the people in charge of the GIMP project have shit for brain, it's literally a car designed by people who can't drive for shit
Ever tried Krita? Maaaaaan, it's almost as good as Photoshop. Damnit, their stylus/bamboo-pad support is out of this world and, in fact, objectively better than Photoshop's. That being said: typography is its Achilles heel. It's absolute shit at messing with fonts and related effects. You can just use Inkscape for that. Otherwise, it's damn-near perfect: https://krita.org/en/
paint.NET is my personal favorite free image editor
It's for losedows, but yeah it's descent
Ever tried graphx2? https://pic8.co/sh/77yK0t.png
It's in default linux repos, works in framebuffer too
