Of course they last longer, they use weaker components that don't melt in such a thin casing.
That wasn't what I meant by longer life. Sure, they are using slower chips and other components but that's only part of the story. I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro and other it didn't really feel its age until 2018.
If it was as simple as using weaker components, $500 laptops wouldn't be close to useless after just a few years. Every time I'm asked about laptops I tell them the same thing - buy according to your budget to replace it in 2-4 years.
Ok so basically you're just full of shit is what you're saying.
A faster laptop isnt going to somehow magically age faster than a much slower crapbook.
Also it is known that Apple purposefully put out updates to slow down their older hardware, mainly their iPhones.
I worked at a now out of business laptop manufacturer. Their laptops' specs were faster than Apple's, but their laptops were useless after 1 year. I have first hand experience with a faster laptop being useless because it is all about heat. Apple has figured out the big problem concerning laptops - heat dissipation.
I've got a 2019 Dell laptop sitting at my desk from my office and that thing spits off way more heat than my MacBook Pro doing the same tasks, even though it is almost 8 years old.
You are the one that is clearly full of shit. Maybe you should try some ex-lax?
