Just installed OpenBSD in an old PC. I'll play with it some days, but I'll tell you, it's not as fast as Linux.

(edit: I'm talking about booting, maybe because systemd makes it fast)

I haven't played with it recently, but in the past, maybe booting is one thing, but how fast and snappy programs run is another... BSD usually ran linux programs WAY faster than any linux distro. Just my personal experience.

Man, IDK, I didn't have the time to check it yet. But I think we can agree that that Michael Larabel guy is objective in his tests, and OpenBSD doesn't go exactly good in preformance:

As a desktop, maybe these tests wouldn't make a difference. My reason is political, so if it's usable, it's an alternative if Linux goes full retard.
