Things that the US gov't has regulated out of existence:
- R&D on nuclear rectors (at any scale).
- Being a backyard chemist.
- R&D on drones on a small (non DoD) scale.
- Etc.
Fortunately, they haven't (yet) killed the backyard electronics or machinist (3D printing, mills, lathes, etc) hobbyists. I'm concerned that they will start regulating machinists under the guise of "keeping us safe from ghost guns".
