So your thought is the government takes the grid down and you're going to take an extended road trip? What are you planning to use to operate the gas pumps at these magic gas stations you're going to be using? Or was the plan to bring a couple hundred gallons of gas with you?

The gas pumps can run on generators. Same with refineries.

Not unreasonable on a truck/offroader.

In your mind it's reasonable to rely on generator power if you're a gas station or refinery, but not an electric car?

Hundreds of fuel stations can run on generators. It's quick to fuel a vehicle and the next one can come in a refuel.

Where as if thousands of people are flocking to EV fast charging stations, you will have mass blockage for a 20-30min charge per car.

This is assuming a disaster scenario when you need to drive out of the area of problem.

Also fuel can be stored, I can place a large 200 gallon fuel tank in the bed of a truck and feed the fuel into the fuel system.

Much harder to carry more energy with you in an EV, other than a generator or panels. But panels don't work at night or that well with rainy conditions or bad weather.
