What's wrong with using those generators to drive the wheels directly?
Because when it's not SHTF it's far more efficient and inexpensive. When SHTF the efficiency is still higher than most gas cars.

Every vehicle should pay its share of road maintenance costs. That will never happen because a semi would have to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 per gallon in fuel taxes because they wear and tear a road as much as 9,000 passenger cars.

I never said I was. I just said it's a more efficient means of transportation and that it's easier to make fuel for yourself in the event of a longer-term SHTF scenario.

The federal credit is not a rebate since it's not refundable. All they do is reduce the amount of your money the federal government steals. Meaning, you will never get a check for buying an EV.
