As they move the population to EVs, there will be talks of mileage tax. Meaning they need to see how you drive and you will have to report your mileage. This is not good.

Every vehicle should pay its share of road maintenance costs.

It's true that a semi causes a lot of damage, but cars take up more space. That's one thing to consider.

that it's easier to make fuel for yourself in the event of a longer-term SHTF scenario.

Ok, fine, I will agree with you on this. It is an option. One could even use wood gas to power a generator as well. But I don't want to see the killing of gas engines for their goals. They will use EVs now for mass control, this is what you are not seeing on a macro level.

The federal credit is not a rebate since it's not refundable.

I get it, but someone who is wealthy enough can reduce their taxes by going EV, then the same rules should be applied to a gasser. What I want to see is a neutrality. Ideally there would be no income tax, but that will never happen.

It's obvious they want society to be EV only, and their reasons are never for good.

There's nothing about EV that enables more control than gas. The control began long ago when GM started putting OnStar in its vehicles and allowing the FBI to enable it as a listening and tracking device at their leisure. None of this was in EVs.

Maybe not on a micro level. But when everything goes EV, at most 10% of the population will have panels. Millions living in apartments or not rich enough to buy panels will get stuck in the water if the grid is down.

And anyone on a trip will be stuck.
