Old joke maybe no one gets the reference anymore. Basically there was a "bridge to nowhere" built in Alaska that cost a ton of money and was pointless to build. ex. its supposed to mean "you are gullible so I have something insanely expensive to sell you that has little if any use".

Fair enough. I did look at the above post that you referenced. I still dont trust them. I am willing to bet despite what is being talked about the M1 chip is that it probably has something just as bad or worse than IME. It just in the blood for Apple to have something like that.
Well its the closest thing we got to a third party saying its likely secure.
Out of the big tech companies, apple seems to be the only one really focused on privacy.
I mean look at how angry facebook got when apple exposed them for recording mics / cameras when their app was open. They even tried to sue apple unsuccessfully because of it.
