While there are many prevetive steps one can take in their home to limit these chatty devices - one good step is install Pi-Hole to limit or even block these devices from talking all over the place. Another step - disable Bluetooth anywhere you can, unless you really need it or can't live without it. I use Pi-Hole. You'd be amazed at how chatty some of my IoT devices are and how much gets blocked!
