Vegans care about sentience. Plants aren't sentient, so it's okay to kill them. Bacteria aren't sentient, so it's okay to kill them. Computers aren't sentient, so it's okay to unplug them.
Okay fine. I can understand that. Now is killing and eating a person equivalent to eating a pig? What hierarchy do sentient animals have or are they all equal?
No, it's not equivalent because of the hierarchy. It's worse to kill a human than a pig because we're more sentient.
Do insects count? Small rodents? Where does sentience begin, as you have already said bacteria and plants are okay to kill.
