Stolen but true.

Stolen but true.

I wouldn't say they want to be eaten. It's just the natural way of nature. If you're made out of meat other things need to eat you in order to sustain their lives.

Fruit and vegetables likely don't want to be eaten either. It is their way of propagating. I won't look for it now but studies are starting to show that plants communicate with each other. They sense pain and react to it. Just like other living things. If science find hard facts that make that truth what the hell with vegans eat? Haha.

I know they are hypocrites that would die off in the collapse.

I think some plants do develop fruit for the sake of being eaten. Seeds survive the digestive process and the plant gets to spread further than it could otherwise.

True. Those fruits do serv a grander purpose when eaten.

More the one where a tree or other plants get attacked by a certain type of insect and the rest of the trees in the area and somehow start to poison this same type of insect if it eats the their leaves.

That is self defense. Cooperation.

You don't want to believe they're sentient even in the least because it destroys your logic of eating only plants.

Plants are intelligent, but they are not sentient. Just like computers. They're intelligent, but not sentient.

Bacteria are intelligent; in the presence of penicillin, some bacteria will secrete penicillinase (just an enzyme that breaks down penicillin). Bacteria, however, are not sentient.

The wiki links explain all this
