My test day was 24 pushups, so they started me on this:

12
17
13
13
17+

I gotta say, I know I'm pushing it a little because I maxed myself yesterday, but this was a tough progression. Definitely had to psych myself up a little before the last set and play some music to get through it. I finished out my last set with 17 exactly (and one negative rep trying to get to 18 lol).

I am going to be sore tomorrow for sure.

No I took 2-3 minutes. I have heard some say that's too long and you start to lose your pump/warmup, but I've just found from experience that I tend to have better results with longer rest times YMMV.

Well, longer rest times will certainly give better results for isolated sets. I think the short suggested rest times might be a strategy to train muscles for greater endurance (hence making 100 continuous pushups more likely at the end of the program).

Not a bad way of looking at it, but I'm not sure I could've even finished all the sets without taking longer than a minute to rest. Maybe I'll try to shorten the breaks up a little next time, but we'll see.
