I gave it a few minutes and they have very little activity and not much of it even remotely serious.
That's unfortunate. It really is.
It should be mentioned that the FNGT on Voat wasn't the first guitar thread I started. The first one I started was on a Sunday afternoon and still exists today. I no longer participate, but the thread still exists.
Like everything I release to the guitar thread, it's available to all. My tracks can be used for anything you want, and that includes the ideals behind them. If they want to start a new guitar thread on their new site, that's awesome. It doesn't detract from this thread, it makes the community wider.
I've not only birthed one guitar thread, I've now birthed three.
Well, I wish... Their thread really isn't off to a good start. Maybe the following week will be better?
People sharing music is the upmost priority and I'm glad they are attempting that. But they could at least come up with their own marketing instead of using the existing history of the FNGT.
Well, if it helps, I don't mind. I don't mind even in the slightest.
I learned it from BB King. ;-)
(There's all sorts of room on the stage and I don't mind others riding on our coattails.)
Besides, we have an advantage. Well, lots of advantages... We have you, Crazy, and myself. We've already got a lovely archival system, history, and gobs of participation. Over there, I don't see anyone who was participating here. So, we've lost nothing - and they've gained something wonderful.
In other words, don't sweat it.
As I said, anything that gets people making and sharing music is fantastic. I hope they encourage that and can promote that, but Putt (if that's really him) is being lazy and using the years of effort to endorse "his" new project and that isn't right. Come up with a new name and see if it prospers on its own.
I'm more than a little confused in just him, but to each her own.
