Hi all, I hope we've all made it through the week relatively unscathed.
I found a song written by S.H. Dudley, back in 1903. A simple man with simple tastes, and a kindred spirit. Men like him and myself know what it takes to be truly content. I changed a few words to make it more timely.
Dude this is so good! I love it
Thanks. The guy who wrote it wrote or performed on over 600 songs, and some of them were top hits of the time. His career began before songs could be mass-reproduced, so a performer would have to record the song over and over. Can you even imagine? Some people in that time would sell tens of thousands of copies of a song...each one a unique recording.
Musicians used to shop the same song to multiple record companies too back then haha. It would have been pretty tough to know that another company put it out already so they’d go town to town selling their songs.
Well, the word changing was appropriate.
I won't tell you my TSLA shares story. You're welcome.
Many years ago, when digital currency was brand new, I was gilded and gifted 1 bitcoin for a smartass comment I made on reddit. I didn't have a wallet, or even understand what bitcoin was at the time, so I didn't do anything with it, and eventually forgot about it...till a friend pointed out a couple of years ago that 1 bitcoin was worth $30g. I went back and tried to find it. I guess it just disappeared.
I mined like 24 of 'em when they were brand new. I had no fucking clue how to deal with the taxes so I gifted them to EFF when someone pointed out they were worth like $400 each. I was able to write that off, which made me happy. I'd actually forgotten about them and had to revive an older computer to get them back. Fortunately, they were in a wallet and I'd used a retardedly simple password that I use for unimportant shit. It was years after I'd mined them, so I was surprised I even still had the computer.
It's at 48k but it hit 58k per bitcoin. I guess it's time for all the naysayers to admit they were wrong. It ain't going nowhere but up.
Lol, what a hoot. It's like they say
How much is enough?
Just a little bit more.
Satisfying.
Who needs that shit though?
All I need is a guitar and women.
I know, right? I've never had money, and this late in the game, I'm pretty sure I never will.
Fwiw, I didn't know who was till I started looking up pretty girls with three-syllable names to fit in the song. It came down to a choice between her or
LoL I don't know who Amber Heard is either. I figured she had to be sexy as can be though.
And money isn't that important to me either, I've learned that I don't really need that shit except for to pay those who demand payment every month.
I have a very rich life if you keep score in love and not dollars, that's good enough for me!
Great job on this tune, I've never heard it before. I might have to look Mr. Dudley up and see what else he's got. I very much enjoyed your cover.
Thanks much! The original opening line was, "All I want is 50 million dollars"---an outrageous sum at that time. I had to bump it up a bit. And he wanted to own Western Union Cable, and have Rockefeller serving his food.
I first heard this song on Zorro and the Blue Football's debut album, but I just found last week that Tiny Tim did a cover as well.
