That may very well be, and most the people I associate with it is their habits that land them behind bars.
Some folks are retarded and no amount of effort is gonna keep them from doing stupid shit.
I know that I'd be more likely to re-offend if I went to jail and my friends and family cut me off from contact. I'd have nothing left that made it worth behaving, other than a dislike of incarceration. That might not be enough, I may just not give a shit after that. It won't make me necessarily offend again, but it's probably gonna make it a whole lot easier to commit more crimes.
Then judges probably should not issue no contact orders for people accused of crimes.
If being around loved ones is beneficial, the no contact orders makes it bail jumping if you violate it.
I don't quite get how they can justify placing any restrictions on who you can associate with simply for being accused of something. An accusation is easy to make, yet it is all it takes to have your freedom of association restricted, as well as firearm possession, and alcohol consumption, all because of an accusation. Just does not sit well with me
The same way they can incarcerate you before conviction. There's a clear and present danger if you associate with them, or there's a chance you'll reoffend or collaborate with a person charged in the same crime with you.
