There is a restaurant down the road here that makes some world famous chili and the first ingredient of their chili is tripe.
Hmm... I've never (knowingly) had tripe in something else. I've tried it by itself, twice. I figured I'd give it a second chance, but no... No, it's just disgusting.
I've never had it (knowingly) in chili. Have you tried it?
I've never heard of anyone eating it by itself
I have had the chili, and I like it. I did not even know that was in there until one day I asked the butcher at the store why they even have this stuff on the shelf there, who eats that. He told me about the chili
The only times I've seen it eaten, it was eaten alone.
If I found a place that had it in the chili, I'd probably give it a third chance. I am a pretty big chili fan, though I'm out of practice.
If you want to get good at eating really spicy stuff, you can build up tolerance to it. I used to keep my tolerance pretty high and eat some pretty hot peppers.
Hell, I once took a chick out on a date and she was so proud of how secure she was with her pepper spray. So, I asked to see her spray and sprayed it all over my food before I ate it. It's just propelled capsaicin.
