I'm actually an official Ubuntu member, by way of Lubuntu.
Arch is a great distro if you don't mind the 'some assembly required' nature of it. Frankly, I'm just too lazy to do that. If I were going to put that much time and thought into it, I'd do LFS and BLFS, and just compile my own distro. (I've done those things, but they're way more effort than I care to put in.)
My computer time is just so much better used than fucking with the OS. In fact, the OS should just get the hell out of my way and I shouldn't have to think about it.
I do have a lovely Manjaro VM that I nurture and use for testing. I wouldn't mind Manjaro on bare metal.
I don't mention Arch often, but https://linux-tips.us is mine.
Blfs os awesome can make macro systems so small and lite fuck yes l9ve thwm have a few cds from pre 2012. Ill probably settle with artix for now has few light themes and quite secure. Manjaro that still around? I have an old manjaro disc hell i found a ubuntu 7.o4 lts i think it was couple qeeks ago ina old batch evema super grub recorvery disc from before i met my w8fe lol
Yup. Manjaro is still kicking. Man, that distro has some history. From Mandrake to Mandriva and now onto Manjaro - but based on Arch. It's amazing.
Hell, Slackware (finally) just got a new version. The last new version was 15 in 2014 or 2015. They're now on 16, I guess...
I don't do the 'news' thing for the site really. I just do articles every other day. I can't possibly keep up with all the news.
Mandrake oh man memories there when i was young. I started with linix at abput 8 yrs old and have tinkered but really need to stop doing usb live persistent systems and build me a full on linix desktop. Slackware is still around thats goos news lots of linux support still sweet. Yeah i dont know how any9ne could keep up so many changes consistently
Wonder since going to arch will they remove systemd as well for security? That ill look into now my linux fever is hot again lol thanks
