I called all the major rental companies. Hertz, Avis, Enterprise and Budget. They all said no way.
I was thinking a local one may rent to me but instead of going through all that I just said fuck it and drove there
That's weird. Hmm...
Well, from what i can tell:
I have some good news!
AutoSlash cannot access the Do Not Rent lists, because they are proprietary to the rental companies.
So, you're (maybe) only on the list with one company - but that one company owns a bunch of sub-brands and you contacted sub-brands that share the DNR (Do Not Rent) list within their conglomerate.
It wouldn't make much sense for companies to share that information with each other, as it's a competitive advantage.
They may have all run your license and decided not to rent to you? I dunno... Either way, it does't look like they share that information with each other.
Buggered if I know and that's about as much effort as I'm willing to put into it. I have so far never been put on the DNR list. I do have a DNR - but that's a medical thing. It stands for 'do not resuscitate'. If my heart ain't beating, just let me stay that way. Let nature take its course.
I do believe that it is very likely that I am on that very list. I wonder if there is a way to extract me from the list
From what I read, the answer is a clear 'nope'.
Sometimes you can, if you're on the list for extra miles or disputed charges. For something like that, or an OUI on your record, you're pretty much fucked. They do have an OUI list that's used for DNR - at least according to what I read. I read maybe 10 or 12 pages.
