He didn't make any effort (any real effort) to upsell or anything. He did ask if we'd rather cellular or Starlink (as he installs them both) when we couldn't get it to use the satellite it's using now, but that was not really an effort to sell anything - he was just seeing if we'd like to explore other options and he never went into any details or anything like that. I pointed out his own lack of cellular service (a bar or two, at best) and laughed about the idea of a cellular hotspot. I already have a phone that does that as well as any other system is going to do it, at least not without buying (real, and expensive) cell phone signal boosters. Even then, we barely have enough signal to boost and it often drops to zero bars. But, we signed up through their website. They sent the independent installer. I don't know, but it seems unlikely that he'll get residuals in this case. I don't mind if he does. In fact, it'd be great if he did. He wasted a full four hours here on the first day. The second day he was in and out - but that's 'cause my house makes it REALLY fucking simple. There's CAT6 running through conduit all around the house. Punch through anywhere, terminate the CAT6, and you can drop your equipment anywhere you want. I picked the installation location because that one had a separate channel (CAT6) that runs to a central area of the house. It made the most sense to put the router near the center of the house. Then, run a second line to the barn that has the shop in it. After that, you're done. He was done in like an hour. I have repeaters but the signal is good enough without using them. As we start spending time outside, I may hook a couple up to cover the front porch, balcony, and lawn. Hmm... If you're not terribly busy, you could click a couple of ads for me. ;-)
