Probably not. 30 feels like you're going twice as fast. There aren't even any seat belts, and I don't think the windshield is safety glass.
Yeah... If you hit something at 30 mph, you're pretty well fucked. The only thing holding you in the car is a steering wheel - and that'll move outwards if the door somehow opened.
We cheated and drove it into the village on a trailer. We then went for a drive in it after the parade. We took it up to the Height Of The Land and then had a terrifying descent back into the village. It climbed the mountain well enough but only at maybe 35 mph. We were going slow enough so that we pretty much had a 2nd parade behind us.
It was the way back that was terrifying. It's back down a mountain and then around the lake. The around the lake bit was not too bad.
We stopped for lunch and came home after putting the car back on the trailer. It was a mostly uneventful day. I will not be taking one out for daily drives.
Just the thought of taking one of those down a mountain road is terrifying!
It has brakes that kinda work and the transmission doesn't free-wheel, so you've got engine braking. You just need to be careful with your brakes - don't ride them and let them cool off a bit before using them again. So, you're slowing down below the speed you want to go and letting speed build before braking again.
You'll be alright.
LoL I don't know how steep the mountain road is, but man if the brakes were to fail that would be a wild ride
