By the way, it's amusing that you too said it looked like a Jag. Everyone said that - and it was. There was actually a Jag version. Look at the XK8 and XKR. See, Ford owned both companies at the time.

The car was designed/spec'ed by a dude that raced Jags. Well, the car he raced was long in the tooth so he tried to get a new one. For reasons, he had to go to Aston - who jumped on the idea and produced this car. Jag saw that it was awesome and built not just one version of this car - but two versions of this car.

The value of them was pretty low, but has spiked. I stole it for 28k as a long-term investment. I figure it'll be worth 100k in a decade or so.

They were $100,000+ cars. even then. They were like the cheapest Aston examples at the time, with price parity with some Ferrari models. So, while they sold - and sold in good numbers - they were never really cheap or anything.

They're the same car. Some body panels are a little different and I don't know if the Jag came with the V12 - which was two V6's smashed together. (Nothing wrong with that. They were great engines.)

But, yeah... It's pretty much a Jag with different lights and grill. The interior is the same, just with different logos. Jag also used wood (I think) where the GT version used carbon fiber.

Yeah, it's real carbon fiber - in 2003...

Needless to say, it was very pricey to by new. 28k is a bit of a steal, but mostly because of the miles and condition. The specific one I have is 435 horsepower - again, in 2003 - is exceptionally rare. They sell for $80k in other markets. There aren't enough in America to really have much of a market but I'd be comfortable suggesting the car's closer to the 100k mark than not. In a decade, it'll definitely be worth that.

By the way, the Jag version of this car would be 20k for the best of the best. So, it's a better bargain.
