The non-emergency line at your local PD, sadly. You gotta deal with the cops.

You can try telling 'em where they register bikes in your city, but I'm pretty sure you gotta deal with the police for this one. Pretty sure...

it was in my driveway when i noticed it today, but I can not be sure it wasn't missing before that.

So, some stranger came into your driveway to steal your plate(s) and nobody noticed?

Have you left it unattended anywhere?

Either way, this is all for nothing. You're gonna have to replace it and you're gonna have to report it. If you do not report it, you're gonna get fucked in the ass for committing a crime you didn't commit - or some shit like that. It's not like it's a car where people can tell the difference. One bike looks like any other bike to them. So, when they report the crime with a bike involving your license plate, it's gonna be really hard to defend against that.

So, I strongly urge you to suck it up and report it to the cops using the non-hotline phone number. (Don't call 911 for it.)
