Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Also, it's red and I'm a moron for doing what I'm going to do with it - that is put miles on it.

Hmm... You must be getting drunk...

LOL Me too! Only I have a laptop beside me.

Well last night when those band guys were here Verle and his son and one of his nieces showed up here and of course she is in love with me, following me around, talking my ear off, she won't leave me alone. My woman got jealous and left.

Hmm... You need to fix your car and drive really fast! I got four rabbits off my lawn, all within about 30 seconds. I used my Ruger Mk II Target and plinked 'em all in six shots. That's pretty good, if you don't mind a bit of bragging. Most folks won't hit anything with a pistol at that distance - but it's a target model and accurate as fuck.

I got 'em sitting in brine. I'll toss two in the freezer and have a delicious breakfast large enough for a few extra people, including sides of potato, toast, and bacon. I'll probably hash the potato, though I might do seasoned wedges.

Seeing as you won't be by for breakfast, I'll feed the mechanics. I've never fed 'em rabbit before. I dunno if they've even eaten rabbit.

It's gonna be delicious.

This week's car is expensive. It has a heritage back to Ford v. Ferarri in Le Mans. I believe it is the last year they made this model. It has insane aerodynamics.

Those should be good clues.

A Ford GT?

Ugh... I just spent $3800 in heating oil. My tanks were lower than I liked and winter is setting in.

That will easily make it to spring. It's like $5.70 a gallon, but I got a slight discount for buying in bulk. We topped up both tanks. I have a 250 gallon one in my basement. I have a 5000 gallon tank in the ground. The tank in the ground automatically supplies the generator, but you manually have to flip it over to go in the house.

I can use the fuel as OFF ROAD (dyed) use for diesel. I can't put it in my truck, but I can put it in my tractor. They'd never know to check, but I'd rather stay on the right side of most driving regulations.

I had it filled early last spring, so the usage isn't too bad. It's a big house. It's expensive to heat.

I was gonna make a comment about you considering Budweiser to be a good beer, but at least it's not Natural ice.

Also, a pack of cigarettes is about $25 NZ dollars and about $30 Australian dollars. That's $15 to $20-ish dollars for a pack of cigarettes.

what do you think?

1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Speedster by Jon Sibal - A beautiful restomod concept The renderings come courtesy of Jon Sibal and depict a new project that will be built by a company called S-Klub LA. The car originally came out in 1953 and, in roadster form, was produced until 1963. Although the 300 SLR inspired SLR Stirling Moss and the SLS AMG can be considered spiritual successors, an independent designer shows us what the 300 SL would look like nowadays. Moreover, the renderings we see here will be turned into reality. The person responsible for these renderings is Jon Sibal – a body kit, livery, and 3D concept automotive designer. For many, his name wouldn’t ring a bell. However, his take on the 300 SL, called the S-Klub Speedster, might change that, not only because we think it looks epic, but also because it will actually be built. It is indeed a Ford GT - it's an expensive version that's really quite special.

Somehow, I'm picturing Verle's niece as looking a lot like Verle. I don't think that'd make Biff jealous.

As for the resto-mod, they turned a beautiful Mercedes into a kinda awkward AC Cobra. Plus they chopped it. It makes me wonder if a tall person will fit in there, or if they also lowered the seat height. If you change all those metrics, it changes the drivability.

It mostly looks okay, but it was already beautiful.

I've thought about it some more and the Mercedes-Benz 300SL is such a beautiful car that I just can't agree to doing a resto-mod on it, and I kinda doubt anyone will - though I could see them doing it on a replica.

I own one and wouldn't change it for three times what it's worth (which is a whole lot).

It's not like a Singer Porsche, where they build 911s from a car manufactured in large number. We're talking taking an icon, an icon of which there are few examples, and trying to improve it. You don't really improve on greatness.

I consider it a privilege to own my example. It's worth a lot of money, but it's close enough to being 'priceless' in its design and function.
