Open Office doesn't come with most of the MS fonts. I've been struggling all afternoon to add them with nothing to show for it. The interwebs are no help either because the methods to fix the "broken packages" error I'm getting don't work.

If it's specifically the MS Fonts installer that's screwing you up, you could ...

Yeah, it was the MS font installer I was trying to load. I even added the "--allow-insecure-repositories" and "--allow-unauthenticated" commands after the string. Still no joy.

EDIT: No worries. I appreciate the help. I managed to download and install a few fonts that are good enough replacements for the MS fonts. I also added the "Bookerly" font that my Kindle uses because I like to read with it.

At least you're not running 'doze, man.

I've been bricking linux installs since the mid 90s and so far I'm finding linuxmint reasonably stable. The MATE desktop runs well on low spec machines.
