I just duckduckgo'd it. And when I saw the lxde page I figured that would be the best bet. It shows in appearance where you active antialiasing under the fonts tab.

Lubuntu, I hate the lxde desktop. You should have installed mint with the xfce desktop instead if it comes in x86 still. Ubuntu is shit in my book, it like manjaro run like crap for me. I love MX and Namib "just like antergos". Mint is your best shot since it's made to be simple.
Probably don't have hardware acceleration working. What graphics chipset is in the machine? Obviously I know the answer but I want you to go find it because I think it'll give you your answer.
Ok, Hardware acceleration. I will look into this tonight. Is there a good troubleshooting resource (besides poal)? Or a checklist of things you should do after installing Linux?
Graphics drivers and network drivers are usually the first things I worry about, obviously the build you installed has working network drivers but it doesn't sound like graphics are working, so you need to know what hardware you have working and what doesn't. Off the top of my head I don't know of a good site to trouble shoot it but (insert search engine here) should pretty quickly give you all the answers you need.
Add hi-def hentai wallpaper of your favorite waifu to immediately improve appearance.
