The echo chamber was a big problem with Voat. It got tiresome.
It really did, I tried for years on voat to fight against it. You remember those times early on Poal where people called me a bleeding heart liberal?
Ha yep.
It got bad. It was to the point where you couldn't even link most websites without being called out. That was annoying. Archive it yourself if you feel that strongly about it.
Dude all the archive sites have my IP fucking blocked I checked blacklists nothing its super frustrating I can't even look at those links unless I use my cellphone on cellular.
What specifically about the echo chamber? Like fixations on the JQ? Or something else?
That was a lot of it. I'm no friend of the Jews, my post history makes that clear, but not everything under the sun has to do with them.
You couldn't post about sports without a lot of negative comments.
You couldn't link a lot of websites without people yelling at you to archive it.
If you voiced alternative opinions you'd get down voted excessively.
It turns out the JQ is only a layer of the red-pilling. I see now it correlates with a sort of mental and social infantalization. Subversion is to affirm victimhood and herd people into addiction. Anyone trying to make money will start to have corrupted morality. I lurk on voat and see people have trouble with this idea. I also find fixating on blame reduces peoples ability to take action on the subversion (scapegoating is in a way a form of infantalization).
I didn't realize there was many negative comments for posting wrong there. I think people are sensitive everywhere. I probably should read to the bottom of the threads but sometimes they get long and detailed and I don't have time to look at things so deeply. However, the other day I posted some direct link MP4's here and got downvoted and chewed out when. People don't like to have their flow disrupted I guess, but Voat seems to be a lot more aggressive about it then Poal.
I hope the userbase grows a little here and the standards stay high. It should make for some interesting growth and give more intellectual perspectives and truth seeking.
