"Student" here. We all need to return to remote learning, so teachers can get paid for doing next to nothing.
They're just jealous of the teachers in Chicago who are sitting home with a paycheck.

I didn't see any reason to believe it's not a high school student other than half way through (30-40% through), I was like wtf a high school student really decided to sit down and write this much? However it's New York and quite a different era.
"Refined to a ration" tells me he's young, and in high school. Only a young person would write that. They're always trying to sound smart. It doesn't make him sound smart though. A real smart person, who's older, doesn't say "refined to a ration."
