You can also practice without making any significant noise, by just practicing with your left hand. You can practice chording and scales, for example.
I keep thinking I should have gone accoustic(I don't like the sound as much) but it would have been easier to cart it to work with me and use it there.

My memory is not the best, but I suspect I could say that I told you so.
But, you can just practice with no amp or just your left hand. For the early part of learning, the fretting hand needs the most attention.

Not yet. I just don't have the time. I could complain and bitch and moan about time but I won't.
Gotta do what I gotta do and I haven't had enough time for it. I've had 3 jobs this past 2 years and well thats gotten in the way.
I'm not quitting though.
