I really like the 90's sci-fi genera, and these obscure gems are great (They Live).

I really believe that the US culture prior to 9-11 was really on the cusp of something (Matrix, Fight Club, Truman Show, just thoughts off the bat).

They Live takes the cake for something I had never heard of.

60's/70's was awesome too: Planet of the Apes, Logan's Run, Soylent Green, Omega Man

honorable mention in a decade alone: Idiocracy

--no one ever mentions Akira anymore (or anime)

The expanse is good scifi show, 12 monkeys, Sunshine. All those prior 9/11 movies you mention all had an "office theme" Cubicle if you will... It was a huge 90's trend. As far as anime, Your Name(2016), saw that and thought it wasn't bad. Laughed a few good ones.

12 monkeys is awesome -- I thought about mentioning that the other day.

ps. I start to read reviews and I almost have to take the opposite side [sunshine]: I see six reviews of-the-bat for unequivocally awesome and I'm back in that movie about aliens and a def girl and a woman with a shotgun...some guy dies...its a cult classic!

Dark City is a great film.

Soldier (Kurt Russle) is a great low budget sci fi I really like.. Also an even lower budget movie, A Boy and His Dog (Don Johnson) is great.

The word is genre, for future reference. It's pronounced kinda like 'jahn rah', if you're curious.

Fucking Dark City was Amazing.

You ever watch Dark Days?

[–] 1 pt

are you a damn bot? Dark [noun] -- completely unrelated material...no, no, I like shit that has "Dark" as the first word of the title followed by a random noun.
