Maybe we go to war with China but right now they have their man in the White House so there is no need.
No, I think theres sufficient popular dissatisfaction in both nations to risk real backlashes.
War with China would be a good thing for the USA which is another reason I don't see it happening soon.
It would also be good for china. Chinese have their just cause "u.s. userping taiwan, blaming us for covid", and the u.s. has a cause for war too, china encroaching on taiwan, and china supposedly causing covid to collapse the economies of other nations like the u.s.
What I see is more places going to "covid passports" and more freedoms being removed from the people.
I see that too. I don't see it as mutually exclusive though. Theres no reason less freedoms/covid passports/more tyranny is the alternative to a war. In fact, if anything, further tyranny and lockdowns woul be cause for the u.s. to go to war, because there would be all the more need for a distraction and excuse for power grabs.
And we both agree theres going to be more power grabs (even if we happen to see a brief -1-3 month walk-back of all these overreaches). It will get worse. We both agree on that.
So the real question is, why wouldn't they go to war when it serves the interests of both nations occupation governments? And when both populations could very easily be at war with their governments if things get worse?
