Look at the different bottle's labeling next time you go buy some. It doesn't even fucking say "detergent." If it does, it's in the tiniest fucking font they can find.

1:1:1 ratio. Washing soda, borax (20mule team), grated soap (ivory, zote, etc)

Mix very well. I use 5gal bucket w cement mixer and mask because it does make a small cloud.

This amount lasts us ~2 years. 8 to 12 loads laundry per week.

Use 1tbsp or more depending water hardness and how dirty clothes are.

No. That is laundry soap. Laundry detergent is a detergent. Soaps and detergents are not the same thing.

Yes. We make a liquid from zote, borax, and washing powder. We use it in a HE washer. Twice a month I run a cycle using dawn detergent to breakdown residue left by the “soap”.
