I'm upset about the price of potatoes.

Sure all groceries are high, but for some reason, it annoys the fuck out of me that potatoes are like 6 or 7 bucks for 5#s now. It isn't like I can't afford them, it's just the principle of it! Potatoes have always been a low cost way to fill bellies. I don't like this one bit.

Everyone eats potatoes tho...

Rice and beans are still cheap.

I've got 10 years of beans n rice "dry canned". Guess I'll do some research on growing potatoes...

I guess they are easy to grow, get a stack of old tires and fill them with dirt. IDK how legit that is, but I've seen videos on it before. I live in a condo, so it isn't like I could try it anyways.

Lol, I grew one under the sink by accident a couple years back. I don't recommend indoor potato growing! Bugs, stink.....

Cheap but getting more expensive. Cans of beans are over a dollar sometimes.

Dried is the way to go. Assuming you can afford a means to cook them.

Having them nearly ready to eat removes a lot of calculations in terms of water and fuel. If I only had 30 minutes of power a day I would want to be boiling water for sanitation or emergency food supply rather than starting to cook dried beans.
