Once everyone has been forced to switch to electric cars, they'll blame to pole shift on the magnets in the electric motors. Electric cars will then be phased out for something even less useful. We'll be forced to give up any household appliances with a big motor or compressor like A/C, refrigerator, and washer/dryer.
