I appreciate the deep meditation on this. To confirm a few things: * I cannot claim to have any real undrestanding of the bible compared to Christians. I concede that. * I appreciate the details that I was not aware of. * I am an atheist. Honestly, we have done far more to destroy our own civilization than Christians even if you were to accept the dark ages were Christian smothering innovation (which it was not). * I accept the critique of my ignorance. * I was mostly commenting on the allegorical inversion that seems at the root of the story as it appears to me.
