Already I can tell you haven't read the Bible yourself. True "Israel" was always forbidden by God from all of these abominations. In fact when the Israelites chose to worship these idols God destroyed their land and allowed them to be taken by Babylonian captivity. God forbid them from worshipping gold and money and sacrificing children to false gods (Molech and Baal).

Judaism died in 70 AD. Those who are faithful to God either accepted Jesus as the Messiah, or rejected God. Many in the Palestine region today have rejected Jesus and therefore rejected God. They aren't practicing "Judaism" they are practicing a counterfeit. The Talmud wasn't inspired by God at all, it was a complete Satanic fabrication. The "Judaism" today is a complete hoax and farce because there is no such thing. Also, the "Israelites" were many tribes who God called his people, Judah was only one tribe through which Jesus was born. Many times the Jews would tell Jesus "We're descendants of Abraham" and Jesus would tell them they are of their father the Devil because true worship of God is not a DNA test or genetic line.

This forbidden fruit alegory is one of those.

Look at the state of the world today - you are witnessing the fruits of "free will." Everyone is their own "god" and has free will to reject god and do their own thing. How is that working out in the world? Is the world such a wonderful place? God commanded them not to eat of it, but never stopped them by force. Love doesn't coerce or force anything. Adam and Eve made their choice and God simply removed them from his presence. So what's the problem? Isn't that what humanity wanted? Why complain about God when sin has removed you from his presence - are you not happy?

Finally, don't you find it ironic that you're criticizing ignorance yet I can tell you haven't read the Bible? If you would be the antithesis of ignorant you would choose to read it for yourself rather than allowing your perceptions of it to derive from what other people have told you. The Satanic counterfeits of today's jews hate Jesus and hate Christians. Where you're incorrect is to relate them to the old Israelites and old Judah tribe from long ago when Judaism is now completely non-existent.

I appreciate the deep meditation on this. To confirm a few things:

I cannot claim to have any real undrestanding of the bible compared to Christians. I concede that.
I appreciate the details that I was not aware of.
I am an atheist. Honestly, we have done far more to destroy our own civilization than Christians even if you were to accept the dark ages were Christian smothering innovation (which it was not).
I accept the critique of my ignorance.
I was mostly commenting on the allegorical inversion that seems at the root of the story as it appears to me.

Over time I shall learn more.
