Maybe. A business could buy a bunch of reprogrammable robots and take them around to pick the produce. Expensive up front costs.

Then reprogrammable robot farm equipment operators that the farmers can afford for year round work to work the fields.

Ask yourself what percentage of farms Bill Gates owns? Look it up and I'll wait. Now add china to that.

I asked ChatGPT and added Mexico (where a lot of our produce is also grown) ... for a quick number ... which needs verification. __________________________________

Here’s what I found regarding farmland ownership:

🇺🇸 Bill Gates – United States Farmland Bill Gates, via Cascade Investment, is the largest private farmland owner in the U.S., holding approximately 242,000 to 275,000 acres. This portfolio spans nearly 17–19 states and includes substantial tracts like 14,500 acres in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills hcn.org +15 landreport.com +15 reddit.com +15 .

Estimates vary:

242,000 acres reported by The Land Report investopedia.com +5 snopes.com +5 agfundernews.com +5 .

269,000 to 275,000 acres according to AP, Yahoo Finance, and other sources .

🇲🇽 Bill Gates – Mexico Farmland There is no available public record or credible data indicating that Bill Gates owns farmland in Mexico. Most coverage focuses exclusively on his U.S. holdings.

🇺🇸 China – United States Farmland Foreign-held farmland in the U.S. totals about 40 million acres (~3 % of private farmland) finance.yahoo.com +15 globalaffairs.org +15 theguardian.com +15 . Specifically, Chinese investors own between 277,000 and 384,000 acres of U.S. agricultural land, representing under 1% of foreign-owned farmland agriculturedive.com +8 wusf.org +8 foxbusiness.com +8 .

This farmland is primarily under corporate or investor control (e.g., Smithfield Foods, Sun Guangxin).

🇲🇽 China – Mexico Farmland There's no public data indicating Chinese ownership of Mexican farmland. Foreign agricultural investments in Mexico are strictly regulated, and no credible sources report Chinese entities owning farmland there.

📊 Summary Table Owner USA Farmland (acres) Mexico Farmland (acres) Bill Gates ~242,000–275,000 acres None confirmed Chinese investors ~277,000–384,000 acres None confirmed

🔎 Notes Figures are gathered from USDA sources and landtracking reports; updates may come from newer USDA AFIDA reports.

Discrepancies in numbers reflect different reporting periods (2021–2023) and methodologies.

Neither Bill Gates nor China appear to own farmland in Mexico.

Let me know if you’d like deeper details—e.g., breakdowns by state or info on corporate vs. individual ownership!

You view a farmer like a broke nigger. Most are corporations with more money than I could visualize. Maybe you're smarter than me. IDK.

The local farmers here are hard working but aren't "rich". Most are using 50 y/o or older equipment. Maine isn't like the midwest.

The big corporate guys are planting gmo seed, Monsanto pesticides, aerial spectral evaluation determining what type of fertilizer is needed and where. Maximized production.Automated farm equipment guided by gps... who can compete?

I hope someday gmo seed is outlawed. Monsanto alternatives are the norm.
