Just get a goat and milk it in the morning and before bed. No off spring torture. Mine still produces half a gallon+/day with her kids still nursing, and I can pull them at eight weeks, she will continue producing for two years before needing to breed again.

plus.. goats love people more than cows do, and goats act a lot smarter

Goats, like dogs, beg WHITE humans for assistance, using face mannerisms :

Goats, in science studies, are VERY RACIST and prefer Whites and shun and distrust NIGGERS , MUSLIMS, and people of color.

Goats instinctively shun brown skinned arabic Muslims, even if the goat is a both a male goat, and has no known history of animal rape by a Muslim.

Goats will gaze affectionately into your eyes, too. It's a bit disconcerting when you first get them, because you don't know how to figure out where they're looking. I have a few old ladies that will come and stand by me as long as I'm there, even lay down in a semi circle just to be near. They will even talk to you. They're incredibly smart and they do have extremely individual personalities. Even if you get one that is older and isn't friendly to humans, spending time around them they eventually decide they'd like pets, too. The hard earned ones are really rewarding.

Owning goats is very difficult at first. If I had known what I learned by the first year before the first goat, I wouldn't have ever gotten them. By the second, I wouldn't give them up for anything.

Can you recommend any resources to learn about raising a goat?

You are lucky to get to have goats

That's pretty good. I was thinking of doing sheep but that's a lot of milk. How's it taste?

Acquired "Goaty" taste. start with small very cold glasses.

Health Food stores sell it, pasteurized by law, but i would only buy FROZEN there to ensure freshness.

"Goaty" aroma is from 4-ethyloctanal and oxydizes on a airstream to 4-ethyloctanoic acid , a "goaty odor" along with Caproic acid

Also not mentioned is another more powerful and more famous goat smell :

hexanoic acid, also known as Caproic acid

"Caproic" is literally "Goat"

I do not know why that first paper I linked went out of its way to dismiss effect of goats emitting Caproic Acid and to focus on a sex hormone so much.

I've been told that every goat has it's own "flavor". The Nigerian dwarf is thick and creamy, sweet. The lamancha is about the same consistency as full fat cow milk, but also sweet. I've seen some people say their goat's milk tasted bucky, and that keeping bucks near the does will do that. I haven't experienced that problem but mine aren't together.
