The logical questions then need to be answered, such as how did we allow these people? If we legitimately voted for them then the only ones we can blame are the voters, if we didn't legitimately vote for them, then they simply assumed power and have shown no qualifications. Maybe another 9 months they can birth some more bullshit and then we can really say enough, give us someone with a shred of competence to at least read the damn teleprompter. Someone who isn't clearly looking at the damn script because they believe in the message to the point they don't need a script.

If you're going to act, IDK do it good or something.

This is the most correct statement.

The people who would be good to lead don't usually run for office.

The people who are corrupt or just puppets, are the ones who run for office.

Very few of the politicians are good at their job.

Dealing with the idiocy, first hand, while working for the government, it's very easy to see why shit like this happens. People quite unqualified or plain lazy are responsible for budgeting.

Politicians can still have the understanding that surrounding yourself with good people will fill in any gaps in their knowledge. If politicians are truly skilled at reading people in order to give the voters what they want then they should also be good judges of character for they people they surround themselves with. Unless that's impossible, in which case it really is a dog and pony show and there's nothing we can do but live our lives to the best of our abilities.

Ancient saying says the universe is already perfect, little we can do to influence that perfection, thus our leaders are of that same perfection, as effed up as it seems. We get what we deserve.

While I agree, I think what's happening today is mostly surrounding themselves with the "swamp." Even Trump was guilty of this. Cronyism instead of a meritocracy.

For example, there were multiple Epidemiologists who disagreed with some of Fauci's recommendations. From Ivy League institutions and medical networks. But no one listened to them because it wasn't more power for the government.
