They fire was ignored. They have wheel, axel, brake temp sensors onboard. They knew it was on fire and ignored it. Temps would clearly reflect this. The actual cause of derailment remains unknown. A fire doesn't derail cars.

Example of article this morning on blasting cap found 1.4 miles from area. It's burned and scorched.

They have officially acknowledged they started the fires. In reality, they blasted them to rupture the storage tanks because none were leaking. This was "justified" because the vessels "were building pressure" for unknown and indeterminate reasons. For which we only have their word. And no ready available means to measure that pressure.

I'll try to find some of the stuff I've been reading.

A wheel fire can cause break lines to melt and then breaks sieze causing derailment.

They knew it was on fire and ignored it

Yeah it looks that way to me too. My understanding is that the locomotive engineers were instructed to push forward to Conway (I think that's the town name) where the railroad company has more access for maintenance. But the train derailed before it got there. I don't know why they decided to burn the contents of the derailed cars , it seems like a horrible decision, with many other less-impactful options ignored. I like the fact that independent journalists are in the town, making their own interviews with locals. We have much more information of the situation because of their reporting.

I've searched some more and can't find what I'm looking for. The specific article i'm trying to find is an early account and questioning of the account. It explains that if the fires were so large as to cause pressure increase (only possible cause is heat), how would they know, because they would not have be able to approach to measure specifically because of that heat. And if they could approach, that means the fires could have been extinguished without issue because the fires were already small.

They did publicly declare they would ignite the cars to burn off the waste to prevent an environmental disaster. These waste was not burning prior to this. The bad fire pictures are after they ignited it. Apparently these public statements have already been scrubbed. The result is, they blew up train cars which were not leaking in order to prevent an environmental disaster. In doing so to prevent an environmental disaster, they created one spanning at least three states.

According to the public record, this is a terrorist bombing created by our own government. Our government has officially used a biochemical weapon against the general population.

The usual result of seized brakes on a train is a flat ground wheel. Derailment is usually only possible around bends in these situations. This is a straight away on a bridge. At least as I've seen. The tons of force pulling and behind the car generally means a single car's brakes have no impact except for a fire localized to that car's wheels.

I'll search another computer. I thought I had saved a substack article covering some of this, but not found anything. In general I've not been saving related content (some exceptions).
