Is this some kind of flex on millennials and younger?

[–] 1 pt

No. It's never too early to consider these questions in life. I'd be more interested by boomers and gen x folks replies because they have navigated the workforce the longest and are nearest to retirement, or already retired. The younger folks thoughts are also of interest, though in time they may morph into more focused opinions. I'm coming up short in my retirement, yearning for something new but oblivious as to what that magic bullet might be that can make me happier. I'm satisfied with what I have accomplished in the first 3/4ths of my life and fear wasting the rest of it aimlessly searching for something better than the ho-hum blur I see as the days quickly pass by. Maybe someone here has a brilliant idea that I had not considered?

Begin target practice on all non Whites...

Write a book.

[–] 1 pt

Not really my cup of tea. I think I'd be pretty awkward at it. I've been a technical guy (CS/EE) through my career and creative writing has never been on on my hit parade. I love reading works by good writers, particularly sci-fi, but feel that I could never achieve their skill.

Retirement?

[–] 3 pts

My retirement is going to be taking the money I've saved up, heading to some resort area with lax laws, and snorting cocaine off a hookers ass until I see Jesus.

See ya in the funny pages.

[–] 1 pt

That would certainly liven up a retirement, but likely make for a shorter retirement by eventually running out of money or over-exciting the old ticker!

[–] 1 pt

Going to see Jesus kind of implies I'm not terribly concerned.

Jesus Saves!

I'd be so embarrassed if Jesus appeared to me in the middle of the night while I was snorting cocaine off a whore's ass. I don't think he would be beckoning me through the pearly gates.

Nope, though it certainly piques my interest, not planning to add this one to my retirement G's and O's.

I would check the undercarriage of that Hooker first...

You can't be too careful these days

You don't seem to understand, this is a one-way trip.

Getting closer every minute, looking to sell large suburban home to buy small rural home with some acreage. Ideal would be spring water and off grid solar power, but private well and tied solar are acceptable. Look forward to sell the last post 1972 cars and get a get a couple more classics as they can be worked on in the barn. I plan on planting fruit and nut trees as soon as escrow closes, as well as many perennial edibles as possible on the land. I hope to spend my time caring for my property that will provide for me.

I never intend to fully retire, but perform some work somewhere all the time to keep me sane.

Teach my grandkids as much as I can in what I learnt.

[–] 1 pt

Maybe that is what I need, a part or full time job for the social benefits ... to keep me sane.

I wish I had grandkids, I'd do the same.

[–] 2 pts

Its a three-way win. You spend time with your grandsons, occupy them with knowledge and free the parents for more important things like the wife running the house and the father with his job. Ancient people figured it out, we just dont listen. There are many retirees who would give an arm and a leg to have a grandkid as their student.

  1. Gaslighting every jew i see.
  2. Finally connect every ESP32 i have together and shitpost on poal.ai
  3. Go to demonstrations and gaslight as many liberals as I can.

Move to an even more remote location, buy land that has a good combination of forest, farming land and a decent creek or river that I can partly divert into a small power generation station that I own. A water purifying plant from this same river would be great.

Once that is all setup, I want to raise my grandkids away from all of the bullshit that is the public school system these days. The only kids they'll interact with will be like minded kids from like minded families.

I'll raise them knowing how to hunt, forage, fish and farm. They will enter the adult world being fully self sufficient.

hopefully have a paid off house in a white majority area, have people around that i like that i see from time to time, probably spend time similar to the way i have for the past 20 years

[–] 1 pt

That is roughly what I have at this point in time. Neighbors are not nearly as friendly as they were 50 years ago though, which sucks and my old friends are slowing down, dying off or have moved out of state. It is not the fulfilling vision I had when I was younger.

[–] 1 pt

You are an extremely knowledgeable person, shame not to pass that on somehow.

shame not to pass that on somehow.

We have POAL for these things, for those who are interested. Yeah, it sucks for me that I have no kids of my own to share what I have seen and learned in my life. Sharing a bit here and there with the people on POAL is theraputic for me, and helps me to feel that I am paying back for the many interesting things and opinions I have learned from others here and on VOAT.

well if my hands arent rife with arthritis i think i want to do art of all forms in my freetime and hang out with family, tell stories of the before times to the littles.

I will create an AI Poal where everyone will be an AI trained with each user posts and comments.

Mine is retarded and can't say anything but 'lol'.

[–] 1 pt

That could be quite entertaining!

Pilots license, plane, enough money to buy fuel without thought.

I often though about pursuing a license but was never passionate enough about it to get around to do anything about it.
