I was going to ask how she enjoyed driving the McLaren
It's raining again today and I have an appointment to go to. I'm just gonna take my truck. It'll be fairly efficient as I'm not towing or loading it with anything. Though, seeing as I've got the truck, I might as well stop and get some dog food and chicken feed. I'm down to just a couple of chickens. I'm gonna get more...
Have you been eating the chickens?
No, they were too old for eating. I'm getting some younger ones brought over from the farm, when I get around to it. The old ladies might not like the young ladies, but at least I'll have eggs.
A couple have died and the rest disappeared. So, something probably ate them.
Side note:
It's really weird to go from driving exotic sport cars all summer to driving a full size, giant pickup truck.
Holy shit! I just learned something new and amazing. I had no fucking idea, none... A "Dumble Overdrive Special" - an amp - is worth six figures. I have two. One that works and has been here with me this whole time and another that needs like caps replaced and I think I robbed the tubes out of it that was in storage. It's easy enough to fix.
I could do it myself, but I'm lazy and don't like working on amps - 'cause they've got quite a bit of voltage in 'em and draining that voltage requires more than hitting the power switch while it's unplugged. They have like old CRT TV levels of energy stored in 'em! They've got an amp guy in Farmington, and I'm sure he'll be able to sort it out. I dunno how they'll deal with the fact that they're likely working on the most expensive amp they've ever touched, but I'm sure they'll be professional.
I had no fucking idea. If you'd asked me the value 45 minutes ago, I'd have said, "Meh, probably five to ten thousand. Maybe twelve thousand on a good day to the right collector." (I'm not so good at pricing amps as I am at valuing guitars, obviously.)
Those fuckers sell for six fucking figures. Who the hell wants to pay six figures for an amp? The dude that made 'em is dead, sure... It's an amp. We can open it up and look inside and build a goddamned new one. There's no magic genie in it.
But, well, we price rare/special guitars that way, so I guess we might as well have valuable amps. I'll have to spend some time to learn the market. Neither of my Dumble examples are ever going to see the market, at least not while I'm alive. Now that I know they're important and special, I'll just make sure they have a nice home.
45 minutes ago and I'd have told you "5k plus shipping".
She was mostly calm, punctuated by moments of terror. Even with traction control on its highest settings, taking off from a stop sign is actually not easy. It simply has too much power and too little weight. It's also hard to balance the throttle. So, when you take off from a stop it wants to chuck you sideways.
She was aware of that and drove accordingly and according to her skill. She did just fine.
I made it home safe, so she must have done just fine.
